Is UKAI Dev an API or developer platform?
No. UKAI Dev is a service enquiry page for AI development and integration. It does not provide a hosted API, SDK or public developer documentation.
Can the work fit our existing stack?
That is the starting point for discovery. Integration depends on your supported interfaces, permissions, data quality and deployment requirements. Compatibility is assessed before a scope is agreed.
Can we start with a prototype?
A bounded prototype is one of the proposed engagement areas. Its purpose is to test a useful task and the main technical assumptions before deciding whether to proceed further.
How are security and sensitive data handled?
Discuss data classification, access boundaries, provider choices, retention and human oversight during discovery. Requirements and responsibilities need to be agreed for the specific project; this page makes no blanket compliance guarantee.
Who owns and maintains the implementation?
Ownership, source access, hosting, documentation and ongoing support are matters to agree in the engagement scope. Raise your handover expectations at the first conversation.
What do we need before an AI integration project?
Start with a named workflow owner, a bounded task, representative samples and a description of your existing interfaces. Identify data restrictions and who can approve access. If these are incomplete, discovery can establish the gaps before development is scoped.
What could an AI development engagement deliver?
Depending on the agreed scope, deliverables could include a prototype, integration design, evaluation results, implementation notes and a handover plan. Agree acceptance criteria, source access and operational ownership before proceeding. These are proposed deliverables, not a fixed package.
How do we decide whether a prototype is ready for production?
Agree task-specific checks for output quality, access control, failure handling, latency and operating costs. Test representative cases and decide where human review is required. A promising demonstration alone does not establish production readiness; rollout and ownership need a separate decision.
What is RAG, and when might we need it?
Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) retrieves relevant information from selected sources to support a model’s response. It can be explored for internal document search where answers need source evidence. Permissions, retrieval quality and behaviour when evidence is absent still need evaluation. Read Microsoft’s RAG design and evaluation guide.
What are the costs and delivery times?
A quote and delivery plan require a defined workflow, data access requirements, supported integrations and agreed acceptance criteria. Complexity, evaluation effort, deployment responsibilities and ongoing support affect scope. UKAI Dev publishes no fixed price or timeline; discuss these inputs to establish the basis for a proposal.
